Swainby Access
Please note the Pickhill turn from A1 will be temporarily closed for 2 weeks in
late Nov and the Match on 29th Nov will be affected . Use the Ripon /Thirsk turn
off A1 instead to get to Skipton on Swale. Turn left just before the traffic
lights on the river bridge at Skipton on Swale towards Ainderby and follow signs
to Pickhill village.

Match Result 15.11.09
The river was
9ft up at the start but dropped 3ft during the match so weights were affected. Winner
G Blewitt won the match with a single barbel weghing 8lb 10oz on ledgered
bread from peg 25. Second was Charlie Hardaker with 3lb 2oz chub from peg
9. Third was Martin Welsch with 3lb 1oz from peg 27
and 4th was W Mcadam with 10oz oz from peg 71.Future Swainby match
dates are: Nov15th, Nov 29th and 13th Dec. Tickets £12 all in

Match Result 1.11.09
The river was
1ft up but very clear and rose slowly during the match . Winner
Ian Parker caught a barbel weghing 8lb 5oz and added two small chub on feeder
and caster for a weight of 10lb 8oz from peg 65. Second was Paul Tinkler with
9lb of chub on float fished grub from peg 18. Third was Martin Welsch with 5lb
10oz from peg 16
and 4th was Steve Fox with 4lb 11oz oz from peg 42.

Catches
reducing as temperatures fall but Nov can be good for pike up to 10lb
below locks. On milder days catches of skimmers
and perch off the railings below the locks and opposite the old mill near
the Marina. Day tickets available £2.50 Adults with Juniors £1.50. Yearbooks and Day Tickets
are available from Eccleshill Angling Supplies.
