Idle and Thackley AA Angling Club Match Results 2000

Swainby R Swale 18.11.07
The river was still low for the time of year but produced the best weights of the year to date . John Eyles caught 8 large chub on ledgered wasp cake from peg 41 for 27lb 4oz. Second placed Doug Browne took the best dace weight for several years with 18lb 4oz on stick float and maggot from peg 38. 3rd was Mark Mossman P67 5lb 3oz and 4th Charlie Hardaker 4lb 2oz P18.

Swainby R Swale 2.12.07
The river was 7ft up and rising so only three anglers caught anything. E Coleman won with just 2 gudgeon on maggot from peg 24. joint second with one gugeon each were Arthur Kemp P 34 and Steve Stimson P 28

Swainby R Swale 21.10.07
The river was still quite low and clear and Mark Mossman won with 2 decent chub for 7lb 9oz on stick float and caster from peg 47. Second was Neil Smith with 2 perch for 3lb 5oz from peg 63, 3^rd Eddie Loftus 1lb 0oz peg 11 and 4th was M Sowerby with 15oz from peg 67.

Swainby R Swale 4.11.07
The river was low and clear and only a few chub responded. Joint winner Alex Caygill caught 2 from peg 47 and tied with Doug Browne from peg 16 with one chub and some bits for 5lb 6oz each. 3^rd was Roy Evans P41 5lb 4oz and 4th was Clive Cavell P 67 41lb 6oz.

The river was just a few inches up with a tinge of colour and a few of the larger bonus chub responded. John Eyles caught 2 in peg 42 for a winning weight of 7lb 7oz on legered cheese. Second was Dave Robson with one good chub and some small fish weighing 5lb 7oz from peg18 on stick float and maggot. Third was Matty Prudhoe 4b 6oz peg 63 and 4th was Charlie Hardaker with 3lb 13oz peg 15.

Swainby R Swale 7.10.07
The river was low and clear and so the larger chub did not feed but Alan Miller won the match with 2 large perch for 5lb 9oz on stick-float and maggot casters from peg 24. Second was Steve Stimson with a 3lb 13oz peg 36, 3rd Dave Robson 13oz peg 72 and 4th was Billy McAdam with 10oz from peg63.

Swainby R Swale 12.8.07
The river was normal and except for the first 2 most weights were of small chublets , roach and dace. Steve Taylor located 3 large chub in peg 47 and added some chublets and dace for a winning weight of 12lb 13oz on waggler fished maggot. Second was Martin Welch with an 8lb pike and some small fish from peg 65. Third was Matty Prudhoe 9b 12oz peg 26 and 4th was Steve Evans 6lb 11oz Peg 22.

Swainby R Swale 26.8.07
The river was normal but still coloured and the large fish failed to feed. All weights were dace and chublets on stick float and maggot. D Brown won the match with 7lb 7oz from peg 26 . Second was Matty Prudhoe with 4lb 15oz from peg 10. Third was Mark Balderstone 4lb 2oz peg 41 and 4^th was Steve Stimson 3lb 6oz peg 72.

Swainby R Swale 15.7.07
The river was only 18 inches up was running a very dark peaty colour which put the fish off the feed. Matty Prudhoe caught the only decent chub in the match to win with 2lb 4oz from peg 18. Second with an eel and some bits was D Brown 2lb 0oz peg 31. Third was Jack Cragg 1lb 4oz peg 68.

Committe Match Toms Pond Otley 27.5.07
Robert Earnshaw won the match with a catch of Carp Bream and Tench weighing 41lb 4oz on pellet from peg 4. Second was Callum Evans 27lb 10oz P22. 3rd Robert Thornton 15lb 5oz P12.

Swainby R Swale 1.7.07
The river was 4ft up at the start and continued to rise throughout the match. By the end of the match there was 7ft of extra water to contend with. A few brave / foolish anglers braved the conditions but only one fish was caught. Alan Shearer scooped all the pools with a single chublet on worm of 7oz from peg 63. Lucky Alan was also on the golden peg so went home £130 richer that day.

The river was 3ft up but falling slowly and the chub fed well in some pegs. Winner Matty Prudhoe caught 5 chub on stick float and maggot from peg 24 for 25lb 1oz. Second was Richard Walton with 4 chub for 18lb 5oz from peg 63. 3rd was Jack Cragg 5lb 0oz P75 and 4th was Arthur Kemp 4lb 15oz P11.

The river was 2ft up and dropping slowly and Winner Eddie Loftus caught 3 chub on ledgered caster from peg 23 for 12lb 4oz. Second was Alan Shearer with 2 chub for 7lb 8oz from peg 67. 3rd was Charlie Hardaker 6lb 10oz P49 and 4th was Mick Welsh 4lb 13oz P42.

2ft of extra water following all the rain affected catches but a few chub did feed. Winner Alan Miller caught 2 on ledgered lobworm for a winning weight of 6lb 5oz from peg 75. Second was R Sowerby 4lb 3oz from peg 16. 3^rd P Miller 3lb 16oz P63 and 4^th was Eddie Loftus 3lb 5oz P68.

The river was 3ft up and coloured and continued to rise further all day so catches were very low. Winner Richard Walton caught the only chub in the match weighing 3lb 15 oz on bread from peg 18. Matty Prudhoe was second with just 6 gudgeon for 4oz from peg 2.
