conditions were cold following overnight frost . Eddie
Loftus won the match with 21lb 15oz from peg39 thanks
largely to a pike weighing 14lb 9oz taken on
ledgered meat and 2 chub on bread. Paul Jones was second

anglers weighing in. Trevor Bone won with 5 chub
for 14lb 9oz from peg 26 on caster. Adrian Evans was second

still a peaty colour and results were disappointingly
low for the time of year. Only one decent chub
of 3lb 14oz was caught by the match winner Alan
Walsh on ledgered cheese from peg no 73. Remaining
weights were of all small fish led by second placed J
Johnson with 3lb from peg 40 on stick float and maggot.

was nearly won but unfortunately Callum Evans lost a
pike of approx 8lb right at the net .1

Callum Evans won this most
important match of the season with 17lb 3oz of carp on
pellet. Jack Cragg maintained his excellent record in
the annual match by taking second place by the narrowest
of margins of only 1oz with 13lb 4oz of carp and
tench on sweetcorn at the expense of pairs team-mate
Eddie Loftus. There was however consolation for Eddie as
he and Jack easily won the pairs match.

combined with low overnight temperatures affected
weights. Bill Barker won from opposite the marina

match after an overnight drop in temperature. Mark Pratt
edged the top spot with 1lb 12 oz of mainly small roach

in temperature put the chub off . On a difficult day
only 6 of the 17 anglers caught in the final match of
the winter aggregate. John Eyles managed to catch 3 chub
to win with 6lb 14oz from peg 39. Second with a single
pike weighing 4lb was P Gibson from peg 34. Brian
Higgins caught in all 4 matches of the series and so won
the 2004 winter aggregate with 119pts.1
