up and coloured and conditions were far from ideal. Alan

foot up but was very heavily coloured with mainly small
barbel and eels showing. Trevor Bone won with 9lb
13oz of eels on
worm from peg 30. Second placed Simon McArdle caught one
of the few decent Chub and 4 eels for 9lb 0z from peg
58. A good sign however was a number of small barbel

The first canal match of the
season fished by 18 Anglers was affected by the low
night temperatures but turned out to be a very close
result with only 1oz separating the first three. Joint
winners both with 2lb 7oz were Graham Flesher and Steve
Faunthorpe with Neil Smith coming 3rd with 2lb 6z.
Unlucky Dave Stanhope caught an estimated 3lb of fish
but many escaped through a large hole in his keep net .
